Pleased as Punch Farms is a small hay farm in Burns Oregon.

The new home of Ben & Jerry, 11 year old Suffolk Punch geldings.

Originally from Montana, the boys made a stop in Washington before coming home to Oregon where they have grown into a great working pair. After 6 years in the Willamette Valley, the boys pulled up stakes in 2025 and moved to the High Desert region of Harney County Oregon where they are learning the fine art of sampling alfalfa and getting reacquainted with snow.

First purchased our Suffolk horses as 8 month old fillies in December 2003. Starting as 2 year olds they were used for all types of farm work, mainly winter feeding a 700 - 800 ewe sheep flock until 2012. I have semi-retired since then and the horses are used for plowing, cutting hay, planting crops, spreading manure and anything else we need them for. We have since added a third mare and comes in handy on heavy draft work, like plowing and three abreast on a large manure spreader.
They have always been a pleasure to work with and probably the most dependable horses I have ever owned and I have had horses of various breeds my whole life.

We have made hay, logged, and farmed with horses and mules for 20 years here. Currently standing an excellent young Stud. Po Boy Farm's Red Oak. His first foal will be born early 2022 to Reber's Donald Mary. The first foal for this 5y/o mare. "Red" will be available for outside mares in 2022. I also teach teamster skills through lessons, workshops, and internships.

We have a few quarter horses and recently added Read's Sovereign Cisco 3508-S, five year old Suffolk stallion. Plan to breed him to some quarter horse mares and look for Suffolk mares to buy and breed. Will consider breeding to some outside mares.

Trained and bred Suffolks from 1999 until 2019. Age and health reasons have necessitated the dispersal of our Suffolk horses.
We are still interested in supporting the future of the breed.

Currently hobby-logging with a Percheron mare. In about 2025 will be moving to a larger property and expanding the business. At that time, I'll be switching over to Punches and breeding, training this incredible breed.

I work with the Berea College Forestry department in Berea KY. We are in the process of starting a horse logging program where we are using a team of Suffolk Punch mares to do sustainable horse logging on our 9,000 acre forest and we hope to expand our herd and get more Suffolk punch draft horses in the future. I am the primary care taker of the two mares that the college currently owns. the mares names are Willow of Ridgewind and Mairach Molly.

We are a small family farm that enjoys the use of our horses for work and pleasure. We have a Suffolk/Quarter Horse gelding who has been helpful in many ways. Our hope is to continue to breed Percherons and possibly venture into promoting the Suffolk horse.
