We are a small family farm that enjoys the use of our horses for work and pleasure. We have a Suffolk/Quarter Horse gelding who has been helpful in many ways. Our hope is to continue to breed Percherons and possibly venture into promoting the Suffolk horse.

After many years of trying being interested in Suffolk horses I, through the assistance of others am the owner of a young team of Suffolk mares. Currently I raise Pineywoods cattle, grow sugarcane and other crops and hope to soon be using the Mares to help me with farm chores . Future plans are to raise Suffolks along the way.

I presently own a Registered Suffolk Punch mare who has raised 3 handsome colts for me.
I started her to work under harness and saddle. She is used for farming, logging, pleasure driving and riding as well as breeding. She has been pinned Champion Mare at the North American Suffolk Punch Spectacular in both 2018 and 2019.
I have also handled multiple stallions for presentation before judges and was fortunate to be handling the 2019 Champion Stallion at the Spectacular as well.
I hope to continue to breed, raise and start many more Suffolks in the future alongside my family. I plan to also contribute to the interest in this breed by presenting them in multiple disciplines in the public eye for years to come.
This is not my first membership with ASHA and am renewing membership in hopes to both represent and have the support of the association.

Just bought my first weanling filly team in November 2024. I am excited for what the future holds for them. My plans are showing in hitch, halter & riding classes, trailing riding, parades & festivals with the possibility of participating in civil war reenactments. Eventually, I also plan on breeding them to further the breed. Previously, I showed Arabians in 4-H then switched to draft mules.

We have a small farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, where we raise and work Suffolk Punch Draft Horses. We've been doing this for the last 40 years or so. We log and farm with our horses. We try to raise as many as we can, produced from good registered Suffolk Mares bred with the best stallion we can find. Our current herd sire is the only imported, English, Suffolk Punch stallion in North America - Eyke Sovereign, ES9035 3396S is proven to reproduce and work. Our mare band is diverse and sons from just about every one could be a potential great sire for someone in North America. We would be glad to show our stock to visitors by appointment, just call ahead. Thanks, Jason Rutledge

Trained and bred Suffolks from 1999 until 2019. Age and health reasons have necessitated the dispersal of our Suffolk horses.
We are still interested in supporting the future of the breed.

I was born into horses, as my parents raised American Quarter Horses both for showing and racing. I got my first pony when I was 7. I've ridden and shown Hunters with my first QH and then my TB. I took up breakaway roping in 2003, and bought my current QH. We no longer rope, and he's semi-retired now at 21yrs old. I've always had a special soft spot for draft breeds and discovered the Suffolk Punch sort of by accident. I fell head over heels for them. I've decided I NEED to have one as my next riding partner, hopefully in the not too distant future.

Ken Spann & Val Barnica, operate the The Y Bar Hitch ,LLC, located in Western Colorado. We showcase Suffolk Punch Horses in our diversified Horse Drawn Transportation business. We have 14 Suffolk horses that we drive regularly for carriage rides, weddings, parades and business promotion. We use our multiple hitch configurations primarily to showcase the Suffolk horse and draw attention to the breed. We have a few youngsters on the place, and hope to have a few more in the spring.
We feel like one of the best ways to promote this breed is to get them out in front of the public as often as possible, in order for people to realize the diversity and uniqueness of the breed.
