My small family is preparing to build a legacy closed-loop farm in OH or PA. We’ll use draft horses and the Suffolk Punch is the lead contender to drive farming implements and leisure carriages/sleighs. I’m quite impressed with their strength, temperament, and stunning beauty, and they are the right size for my purposes.

The reason joined NASHA is to become more familiar with the breed and community in anticipation of potentially purchasing a registered team in the near future.

I work with the Berea College Forestry department in Berea KY. We are in the process of starting a horse logging program where we are using a team of Suffolk Punch mares to do sustainable horse logging on our 9,000 acre forest and we hope to expand our herd and get more Suffolk punch draft horses in the future. I am the primary care taker of the two mares that the college currently owns. the mares names are Willow of Ridgewind and Mairach Molly.

We're a family farm located in southeastern Ohio breeding using Suffolk horses to assist with work in the woods and fields. We have a small farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, where we raise and work Suffolk Punch Draft Horses. We've been doing this for the last 40 years or so. We log and farm with our horses. We try to raise as many as we can, produced from good registered Suffolk Mares bred with the best stallion we can find. Our current herd sire is the only imported, English, Suffolk Punch stallion in North America - Eyke Sovereign, ES9035 3396S is proven to reproduce and work. Our mare band is diverse and sons from just about every one could be a potential great sire for someone in North America. We would be glad to show our stock to visitors by appointment, just call ahead. Thanks, Jason Rutledge

We purchased two Suffolk Fillies from Don Gunderson and are very happy with their temperament and quick learning. We live just off the hwy 97 at 70 Mile House. BC. We are 81 yes old but the Lord has blessed us with Good Health so now following our dream.

We are planning on breeding them this year in 2023 if we can find a nice Suffolk Punch Stallion close by.

We are looking for more pasture in our area as we are limited here.

My husband and I have had Suffolks since 2002, starting with a team of 10 year old mares, originally out of Tennessee. Today we have 1 filly out of 1 of our original mares and a Suffolk gelding. We don't work them at this time, but enjoy them as part of our farm family!
We also raise Tunis sheep for meat, wool and for breeding stock.

We have a very even tempered stallion and a young filly. Willing to breed to other outside Registered Suffolk mares. Currently, I am the Secretary/Treasurer for the Association.
I have been around Suffolks since early in life, as my father raised them. He started with King Romeo 2248-S and Queensuella 2415-M.

Thank you to all the owners/breeders and members for supporting the Suffolk horse.

Our farm is in the northeast corner of Ohio. After farming with Percheron horses for over 30 years, in January of 2020, we switched to Suffolk Punch horses. I wonder why we waited so long!
My son and some dear friends, helped me with my decision to make the switch. Counting a pair of full sisters in my son's barn, we currently have six Suffolk horses here on our farm. Stay tuned for more updates and conversations regarding these amazing, well minded, tough horses and our experiences with them.
I am a regular contributor to Rural Heritage magazine. In cooperation with Rural Heritage magazine, we have made several videos for RFD-TV. Many of these can now be seen on YouTube. I look forward to promoting the Suffolk Punch breed here on my farm as well as around the world, using every means available to me.
