Old Capitol Farm is a diversified farm on 71 acres in Corydon, Indiana, which was the first state capital. Old Capitol Farm is hilly, and not well suited for large-scale farming. With horses and people as our predominant source of power, we make use of the soil to grow healthy food for people and livestock. We also manage the farm's timber, and operate a small sawmill. It is a beautiful thing to practice land stewardship in a way that provides our needs without compromising the cycles which sustain us. The good use of horses allows us to get the work done while contributing to soil health. Good horses are a necessary part of that equation. In the near future I would like to employ a team of Suffolk Punch mares on my farm. The breed is very rare in my area. Perhaps I can contribute to the promotion of the breed through breeding of new stock as well as their use on our farm.

Luise and I have raised and still use Canadians. My interest in farming has led us to the Suffolk breed. We have two mature, bred mares and four young mares. I enjoy starting them and driving, we host driving clinics and I am working towards certification as a driving coach in Canada.

We have a small farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, where we raise and work Suffolk Punch Draft Horses. We've been doing this for the last 40 years or so. We log and farm with our horses. We try to raise as many as we can, produced from good registered Suffolk Mares bred with the best stallion we can find. Our current herd sire is the only imported, English, Suffolk Punch stallion in North America - Eyke Sovereign, ES9035 3396S is proven to reproduce and work. Our mare band is diverse and sons from just about every one could be a potential great sire for someone in North America. My husband and I have just bought our forever farm and are looking to add a versatile horse or two to help us with driving, mowing and riding. Originally from Montana, the boys made a stop in Washington before coming home to Oregon where they have grown into a great working pair. After 6 years in the Willamette Valley, the boys pulled up stakes in 2025 and moved to the High Desert region of Harney County Oregon where they are learning the fine art of sampling alfalfa and getting reacquainted with snow.
